What is High Risk insurance?
High Risk insurance simply refers to insurance coverage specifically designed for conflict zones, remote locations and hazardous industries. Typical insurance policies have exclusions for high risk locations and activities. These policies include medical, AD&D, APTD and kidnap and ransom policies.
Why do I need to consider a High Risk policy?
To ensure that benefits promised are delivered to your international staff. Otherwise you can face liability issues should the insurance carrier refuse a claim based on the adverse risk of the location or duties performed.
I have DBA or an international worker’s compensation policy. Why do I need high risk?
Those policies may have exclusions for off the job accidents and illnesses. Also, if the expatriate has family members at home they will need medical insurance which many not be available if the expatriate is on local payroll.
